Renovation project of the private hair salon UnowN. in Yokohama. It is on the first floor of the old 2-story apartment building near Kamiooka Station. 

This project aimed to create an environment where the hairdresser and the customer are face-to-face in a one-on-one relationship, simultaneously allowing each of person to be distracted.

The first decision was to consolidate the water area (toilet, shampoo stand, and sinks for color) toward the existing back door—this process allowed for the maximum amount of cutting space. Three types of screens (temporary and perforated plane) make up this plan. First, the screen of the facade finished by a sign maker (the most typical sign substrate is hot-dip galvanized steel). Next is the screen with a mirror in the center of the cutting space. The horizontal proportions of the mirror invite people to look away during treatment. Finally, the tile-finished screen that divides the water area. This partition is integrated with the ceiling cassette to distribute the airflow.

There are holes and gaps everywhere. The mirror puts far and near, back and front, next to each other. Numerous scattered planes provide a labor of the eye, and the depth changes at will on each occasion.

プライベートヘアサロン「UnowN.」のための内外装計画。

神奈川県横浜市の上大岡駅に近い木造（一部鉄骨造）２階建ての、路面に面した36㎡ほどの一室を改装している。美容師と被施術者が一対一の関係で対面しつつ、同時に、気が散ってぼーっとすることも許容するような環境の構築を目標とした。

平面計画としては、既存勝手口めがけて水回りを集約的に配置し、ゆとりをもったカットスペースを確保した。3種類の「衝立」が、このプランを構成する。衝立（仮設的で穴の空いた仕切り）を単位とした構成は、鏡や水回り、間仕切りといった美容室を成立させるための要素群をできる限り一体的に扱いつつ、外観とインテリアの問題を同時に考えるために要請された。

まず、看板屋によって仕上げられたファサードの衝立（もっとも典型的な看板下地は溶融亜鉛めっき鋼板だ）。この衝立にはフルハイトの扉と、座した際にギリギリ歩行者と目線が合わない高さの地窓が設けられている。次に、カットスペース中央に配置した鏡の衝立。横長のプロポーションの鏡は、施術時の「よそ見」を誘うものだ。最後に、水回りを仕切るタイル仕上げの衝立は天井カセットと一体化し、空気を分配する。

いたるところに穴や隙間があいている。鏡は遠い場所と近い場所を隣り合わせにする。ばらばらに散らばった無数の平面が目の労働をもたらし、そのたびごとに奥行きが自在に変化する。
