Furniture for the pop-up store of Goods. The furniture named "Tennis" consists of two stackable wooden frames that are united by the elasticity of a tennis ball. The frames, which are a little bit fragile to sit on, gain sufficient rigidity and some cushioning for the stool when united by a tennis ball.

The geometry that generates Tennis is simple. First, a square. Then, a 1: √2 rectangle is generated by taking the square's diagonals. When these are stacked on top of each other, we can see the proportions 1 : √2 : 2. Dividing the first square in this proportion, a regular circle of ø67 mm, i.e., a tennis ball, appears (this determines the dimensions of the initial square, and the dimensions of the stool or stand). Ideally, the difference between the larger and smaller frames would be precisely one tennis ball. But because of the thickness of the lumber, this is not possible. The circle is distorted by actual conditions (the thickness of the material). But the distortion and the frictional force of the elasticity of a tennis ball joint the two frames. Here we have considered the possibility of allometry (elastic similarity) rather than isometry (parallel), tectonics brought about by the impurity of actuality.

One side of the form plywood is coated with polyurethane for concrete placement so that a tennis ball glides smoothly over it. When the frame is shifted, a bright green color can be glimpsed—the display space changes along with the products, thanks to the highly movable and changeable fixtures.

古物らのお店「Goods」のポップアップのための什器。Tennisと名付けたこの什器は、ピタリと重ねることができるふたつの木枠を、テニスボールの弾性を用いることで一体化したもの。座るには心もとないフレームは、テニスボールによって一体化するとスツールに十分な剛性と若干のクッション性を獲得する。

Tennisを生成する幾何学は単純だ。まず正方形がある。そして正方形の対角線をとって生まれる1 : √2の矩形がある。それらを重ねるると、1 : √2 : 2というプロポーションが生まれる。最初の正方形をこの比率で分割すると、φ67mmの正円、すなわちテニスボールが現れる（ここで当初の正方形の寸法が、すなわちスツールや台の寸法が決まる）。理想的には、大きなフレームと小さなフレームの差はちょうどテニスボール一個分となる。しかし材の厚みがあるから、そうもいかない。円は、現実（材の厚み）によってゆがむ。でもその歪みとボールの弾性がもたらす摩擦力によって、ふたつのフレームはジョイントされる。アイソメトリー（相似形）ではなく、アロメトリー（弾性相似） によってもたらされるテクトニックの可能性をここでは考えた。

針葉樹型枠用合板の片面はコンクリート打設のためポリウレタン塗装が施されているから、なめらかにテニスボールがすべる。フレームがずれると、鮮やかな緑色がちらりと見える。可動性と可変性にすぐれた什器によって、展示空間は商品とともに移り変わっていく。
